Spain - Sweden 3:0 (0:0)

In the most interesting match of Monday's Euro 2020 qualification games, Spain triumphed 3:0 against Sweden and kept the flawless record with maximal 12 points in Group F.

Sergio Ramos extended his scoring streak and led Spain to another win at Santiago Bernabeu, while substitutes Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal also scored to give Spain a comfortable five-point lead over second-placed Sweden.

"It's a great result in a difficult match against a tough opponent," Ramos said. "We've taken an important step toward making it to the Europan Championship."

Despite having 12 attempts on the opposition goal compared to Sweden's two in the first 45 minutes, Spain team were unable to score in the first half. Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen had a series of good saves under Spanish pressure.

14 minutes after the break, hand-ball by Swedish midfielder Sebastian Larsson gave Spain a penalty that was converted precisely by Ramos. Captain Ramos also scored the first goal in a 4-1 win at the Faroe Islands five days ago, when defender became the player with the most wins with "La Roja", surpassing the record of 121 previously held by Iker Cassilas.

Alvaro Morata entered pitch just a minute after the first goal. In the 85th minute, he was pushed in the box from Swedish defender and the referee pointed to the 11m, but the penalty wasn't kicked by the usual penalty-taker. Ramos insisted Morata take the spot kick and it was realised by Atletico Madrid's forward.

Two minutes later, Mikel Oyarzabal completed the scoring from open play to give Spain a narrow win and leave them in a comfortable situation in Group F.

It was a first international start for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz, while Bilbao's Inigo Martinez was paired to Sergio Ramos at the centre of defence. Kepa Arrizabalaga came in for David De Gea on goal. Sweden remains second placed, equal by points with Romania (7pts), while Norway is fourth placed (5pts). The last two places are occupied by Malta (3pts) and Faeroe Islands (0pts).
