Alexis Sanchez out until 2020!

Comeback extinguished, or at the very least, postponed as Manchester United loaned out winger Alexis Sanchez suffered an injury while on international duty with Chile and will not play until 2020!

The Inter forward has suffered an ankle injury in the dying moments of the friendly international game against Colombia which ended in a goalless draw. Now, Inter has revealed that the winger/forward centre has suffered tendon damage in his left ankle.

"Alexis Sanchez was in Barcelona this morning for consultation with Dr Ramon Cugat. The visit confirmed the diagnosis of the Inter medical staff and the decision was made to proceed with surgery on the left ankle. The operation was performed in the afternoon on the peroneus longus tendon and it went exactly as planned."

The Chilean had an abysmal time at Old Trafford and hoped that a move to Inter will help him reignite his career. The Chilean spent only 63 minutes on the pitch in Serie A but managed to get one goal and to be an influential player in the Champions League matches Inter played. But the setback has cut down all the momentum the 30-year-old had after his loan to Guiseppe Meazza.

Now, Antonio Conte only has two well-known options in attack - Romelu Lukaku and the Argentinian Lautaro Martinez. The Italian manager will, if needed, lean back on the youngster Sebastiano Esposito, as the 17-year-old is the only remaining forward in the team and has been utilized in the pre-season.

Rumours are claiming that Inter will try to snatch up the unhappy Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in January. The Frenchman is increasingly frustrated at the lack of playing time at Chelsea since his January 2018 move from Arsenal and it is known that Conte loves a target man that can play on his teammates.
